How Prairie View A&M created a fun and engaging event for seniors and their families
About Prairie View A&M University
Prairie View A&M University is the second-oldest public institution of higher education in the state of Texas. It is a historically black college/university (HBCU) that, since inception in 1876, has opened its doors to any and every person – inside and outside of Texas – seeking a first-class, four-year university experience. The university has over 50 buildings on 1440-acres and is situated in a rural part of Texas on one of the most beautiful campuses in the country.
A Day On the Virtual Hill
Senior Day on the Hill provided PVAMU information to first year freshman students and their parents with engaging sessions that included: Welcome & Academic Showcase, Housing Virtual Tour, Student Panel, Parent Chat, Student Life Program, and a Marching Storm Performance!
The marching band at PVAMU is a showcase for the institution and the Marching Storm Performance had everyone singing the rest of the day. Not only did the event create a place for students and parents to ask live questions, but the PVAMU team’s energy and enthusiasm was unmistakable and clearly felt by the viewing audience — even through the screen!, PVAMU helped students and families feel excited and accepted, a part of a passionate and welcoming community.
Meaningful Outcomes
In total, Senior Day on the Hill hosted nine unique webcasts and reached nearly 900 students. These students were among the most engaged on Conduit, averaging 18 interactions each, including: presentation views, chats, document downloads and link clicks. Because video content is made accessible on-demand throughout the cycle as well, PVAMU ensures that no students will miss the opportunity to engage with this unique experience.
